The Firefox web browser has lost a lot of market share recently, but it is still one of the best open-source browsers. Mozilla cares about user security and privacy, which Chrome does not. You can install plenty of add-ons, including from Chrome, and synchronise your passwords and history between devices. Firefox will work perfectly with any Linux desktop environment.
